Accessing the African Commission for Human and People’s Rights through strategic Litigation
On Thursday the 20th of March 2023, ASOWWIP together with other NGOs and CSOs in the Northwest Region were drilled on how to access the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights through Strategic Litigation, in order to enable human rights advocates mount more pressure on the Commission to address and advance human rights violation cases, strengthen the Human Right System, increase access to justice and combat impunity for a broader social change.
The workshop which was organized by the International Federation for Women Lawyers (FIDA) and held under the theme "Inclusive Approach for the protection and promotion of Fundamental Human Rights and Freedom" provide the necessary skills and knowledge to enable individuals, organizations or any other entity on their behalf or on behalf of others file complaints against state parties, organizations or individuals belonging to the Charter claiming or alleging their violation of one or more of the provisions in the charter, without the need for professional legal assistance.
